David joined Refico Real Estate Development (REFICO) in June 2017 as the new Chief Executive Officer. REFICO is primarily focused on real estate development in the Vietnamese market, where David is able to leverage his deep management and real estate experience to successfully deliver REFICO’s upcoming pipeline of development projects.
Prior to joining Refico, David was an Infrastructure Vice President with McKinsey & Company in the Capital Projects and Infrastructure Practice. He was primarily focused on consulting in the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors across Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and the US. His role saw him involved in strategy and implementation studies across, investment, development, governmental and contracting organisations.
David joined Mckinsey & Company from Mace Group, where he was the Regional Director in Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for establishing, then managing businesses for Mace in challenging new markets including Vietnam, Indonesia and Mongolia. He was also responsible for managing Mace’s established businesses in Hong Kong, Macau, China and Australia.
From 1997 to 2005, David worked for Multiplex Constructions (now Brookfield) where he was fortunate to work on several iconic projects in leadership roles, across diverse global locations.
Prior to 1997, David worked for a variety of public agencies across New South Wales, Australia in the infrastructure and building sectors, including land surveyors as well as local and state government agencies, while studying part-time.
His background in real estate and infrastructure, across contracting, management and consultancy, has given David a deep understanding of the complete development life cycle. Over twenty-five years of practical experience in different environments has also allowed him to obtain a diverse range of skills in his varied leadership, management and consultancy roles, helping shape David into the well-rounded hands on leader he is today.
